Dominick DiVito
About Dominick DiVito :
Dominick DiVito has been teaching self-defense for 27 years to celebrities, law enforcement officers, and average citizens. In this new approach to self-defense, he won’t expect you to master complex martial arts, nor will he leave you relying on a gun to protect yourself. What he will do is prepare you mentally and physically so you can successfully deter an attack, whether you are victimized without warning in your home, in your car, or in a public place. During FIGHT BACK seminars you’ll learn:
*The common myths of self-defense
*What criminals look for in a victim
*How to recognize and take advantage of an attacker’s
weaknesses
*What everyday objects you can use to defend yourself
* The three key target points on the human body that can quickly disable any assailant (and the one you’re thinking isn’t among them).
We can’t turn on our televisions today without hearing of a rape of a young girl on a college campus, an abduction of a child, a random murder, or even one not so random—one stemmed from domestic violence. Dominick tackles these harsh subjects, and he does it with passion; however, his strength is his ability to put his audience at ease with charming personality and use of humorous personal anecdotes and whit. His audiences are fully engaged during the session and leave talking about how they can’t wait to share the information with family and friends.
One of Dominick’s celebrity clients shares her opinion:
Dominick has taught me, my daughters, and other family members that the mind if the most effective weapon against being attacked. FIGHT BACK is empowering! Devour this fascinating information, discuss it with others, think about it while driving, washing dishes, drinking coffee. This is the time, this is your life—learn to fight back!—Naomi Judd, county singer, author, and speaker
Dominick has appeared as an expert on the National Geographic Show: Fight Science, Oprah, 700 Club, and numerous other TV and radio segments. His professional experience spans from interactive speaking at colleges, corporations, and health care facilities to training members of the FBI and police departments. His goal is to mentally and physically prepare his audience—his message will impact and change lives.
When asked about his martial arts background, Dominick, a 6th degree black belt in Chinese Kenpo, humbly gives the credit to his instructor, Bill Murphy, a Korean War veteran and hand to hand combat instructor. During the war, Bill taught the art of Chinese Kenpo to the soldiers. Upon his return to Detroit, Bill continued to share his knowledge; he was selective, however, regarding whom he allowed to experience this street oriented style. A young and eager man named Rodney Jones found himself worthy of Bill’s trust, and he proved himself by becoming one of Bill’s first black belts. Rodney and Dominick became best friends—even more like brothers. In 1981, Dominick shared his Christian faith with Rodney, and in turn, Rodney shared this underground world of Kenpo—a gift that greatly impacted Dominick’s life. In 1986, the Lord took Rodney home in a tragic accident; out of love and respect, Dominick vowed to never let the art die. One of only 4 black belts under Bill Murphy, Dominick takes his mission seriously. “I not only represent Bill Murphy, I also represent Rodney, who lives in me every day,” says Dominick. It is this passion for martial arts that Dominick wants to share with others, just as it was done for him.
