Susan Auch
Olympian Speed Skater
About Susan Auch:
An exceptional motivational speaker, Susan's experience and enthusiasm translate into a dynamic presentation guaranteed to leave any audience spellbound.
One of Canada's top athletes, two-time Silver Olympic medallist Susan Auch is the speed in speed skating.
After a climactic year of Olympic glory in 1994, Susan came back the next year with a vengeance, dueling the legendary Bonnie Blair. The competition was so fierce and exciting, both breaking the world record and bringing fans to their feet, that sportswriters dubbed it "the greatest race in speed skating history". A humbling knee injury in 1996 forced Susan to climb to a new level of mental toughness in order to manage another successful season. It is this matured mental strength and determination that carried her to the 1998 Olympic podium in Nagano.
Susan Auch is what determination and a never-ending belief that one can succeed is all about. If one has a strong will, a unique drive and a willingness to sacrifice, they can achieve the kind of success Susan has at all levels. Her athletic successes, along with her personable attitude, have made her a favourite with all Canadians.
