About John Mackovic:
In 33 years of coaching, John Mackovic has been the head coach and offensive coordinator of three college programs, served as an NFL head coach and was an assistant under Tom Landry of the Dallas Cowboys. Considered an Offensive genius, former legendary Baylor coach Grant Teaff said, "John's offense could move the ball against anyone." While coaching Wake Forest, John was named Coach of the Year by Sporting News. Following his tenure with the Cowboys, Mackovic led the Kansas City Chiefs to the playoffs in his final season. John moved to Illinois and was honored twice as Coach of the Year in the Big Ten while taking Illinois to four bowl trips. In 1992, John was named head coach of the Texas Longhorns and was SWC Coach of the year in 1995.
